Alright..

Brilliant idea, really. You even get that much more money, because of all the resfresh..wow. Genius. Cool idea, decent gameplay, okay graphics. Pretty swell i'd say..but what the heck happens after all those refreshes!?!? I guess i'll see what happens after I die..

Can I say, bliss?

After playing Music Catch 1, I started listenning to a lot more of Isaac Shepard's stuff, as previously an avid Yiruma fan, I found his work to be just as pleasing. And if you haven't already I would suggest trying to find some of Yiruma's music as well. Anyways..after seeing a Music Catch 2 release, I didn't think much of it, I figured I'd already had that experience with the first game. But this was beyond what I expected, and I wished I had tried it out sooner. Thank you for the inspiration and joy of playing this wonderful masterpiece! I think I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the iPhone version as well, and I'm downloading it as I write! Thanks again.

nicely put together..

A good game nontheless-however..

I don't think this is a good game to have on Newgrounds. It's highly unoriginal, using freaking sprites? How wonderful. newgrounds is about artists-having real quality flash work portrayed, not for easily manipulating and controling predone 3D models. this game makes the rest of us look bad franky..

So..

The reason I gave this such a low score was simply due to crapy interactivity. Reading the instructions, starting and ending games, and even playing the game was just not an enjoyable or easy experience. Not to say games should be easy, but having to sit through a text box SLOW typing effect explain to you how to play the game is almost as painful as sitting through your classmate's shitty powerpoint who used 5 different transitions into 1 slide and had over the top effects for the text. I don't mean to be harsh, but it is little details like these that quickly change a person from voting 5 to 0. (because we all know there's absolutely nobody on NG that uses the 1-4 buttons)

Intuitive Design

For a system so complex, so well designed, and so fun, it's too bad this game didn't recieve more credit than it deserved. I'm only the 9th review? A shame, but this game was great nontheless. It's too bad most people will only put in as much effort they want into first glances with straight off the bat graphics and cathy gameplay, but hopefully your future games will have more a spotlight to shine in.

Superb.Reminiscing the days of Myst and true games

Excellent game friend. The graphical representation of this game is ingenious, and gave me the same goosebumps I recall while playing Myst for the first time, another game whose developer was able to craft a pure sense of connection to the game for the player, by using smart yet simple techniques. The music, artwork, and setting made here required a quitessential artist. Even as I saw the fox make it's first steps through the game's atmosphere my brian quickly shifted away from "man, this guy's great at fbf!" and into the magic of this game. Brilliant job. I look forward to seeing what other masterpieces you are able to create!

PS: I'm sure you get silly naive requests like this all the time, and I'm sure you will probably never even have to read this review, but a reconstruction of this game, and the work put in to make a longer series, on a smaller platform would be simply amazing. Also, I can picture you easily raking in quite a bit of money from the App Store on iTunes with a captivating game like this lighting up the screens of many iPod and iPhone alike. Good luck to you and all your future endeavours!

sweet ride

Hah, although I don't think it's ever been characterized I could call this a pretty decent indie platformer. Fun, simple, and it kept me interested. Good job!

tactical is the key word

for everyone that is ignorant to what the title actually means, let me clear some things up. this is a TACTICS game, not a shoot em up. you should have realized that if u bothered to READ THE FRIGGIN TITLE..i believe this is a great game to test your strategy and knowledge of defense games. i thot it was sort of fun to watch turrets do the work for u for once, and see if your commanding skills were good or not. if u wanted a shoot em up, dont play a game called TACTICal defense. great game anyways, nice cartoonish graphics. gotta love the 3D in the intro too.

let me just clue u in on a few things..

i see you are sort of confused with some of the reviews people have given you. but don't be mad, this is newgrounds. some of the toughest critics are on here. dont be mad at me tho, i can see some potential in you, but im just going to state the truth.

the game was playable, thats always good. the gameplay was simple and sort of boring, but u had a working engine, which is good to start with. what one person meant when he/she said the flying objects didn't have somehting to do with the song was that the flying objects weren't synced with the music. like if uve ever played Dance Dance Revolution, the steps go with the music. not just randomly fly out. u were just making the objects go with the music thru representing the music as artwork with a storyline.

see wat most people want is to play a game ThRu music. wat i mean is playing along with music, like dancing with a song, tapping they're foot, except something for their hands to do in beat with the music. even the dodging music games people like, such as {Rose} or Streamline the objects fly out WITH the music.

music is the key to a good rhythm game..the title music was alright, but the in game music was poor quality and sort of anoying. i know i like the music i make..but most people want good music. no offence, ive gotten plently of criticism to my music too. look at the good rock out games and see what music the top scorers are using.

i thot the story line was alright, but could have been pulled off a little more creatively. obscure plots don't usually appeal to the vast majority of people on newgrounds, some vote zero before they give a game a chance because it's called something weird like Attack of the Mutant Hot Dogs. or something. i hope ive helped you some, good luck in the contest.

P.S.

Check out my game for the contest, I should have it out today or tomarrow. its a dodging game called Starscape Rhythm. also some good music artists most people like are cornandbeans, Dimrain47, and ParagonX9. all good artist.

See ya,

Plaz

i can see some potential in you.

this game wasn't all that bad..just needs a lot of work. the graphics were low level..work on that definately. i liked your choice of music tho cornandbeans is always good. but i wouldnt really call this a rhythm game since nothing went with the music. thats usually the point of a rhythm game, or in this case rock out. but this game also didn't have much to do with rocking out. but i can see that u sort of tried making stuff go with the music, but its not easy to tell. other than that, it was ok. the socring and health system worked so that was alright. good luck with your future games!
